Why is Enova Power renovating its Victoria Street South office?

Enova Power is renovating its Victoria Street South building to replace its 41-year-old heating and cooling (HVAC) system, which has outlived its useful life of 25 years and must be replaced.

The work requires removing ceilings and some walls throughout the building, displacing employees during the work.

Enova is taking advantage of this time to make some updates to the office and improve customer accessibility, including the creation of a one-storey, street-level customer service area.

This work includes:

  • Making in-person customer care easier to access by removing two parking spaces, an accessibility ramp, a small entrance foyer, and a staircase to create a one-storey, street-level customer service area.
  • Upgrading seating, service counters, private consultation areas, lighting and acoustics to support a more comfortable customer experience.
  • General building and cosmetic updates throughout the space.

The work will begin in June 2026 and is expected to take 12 months to complete.

The cost of the HVAC replacement, building updates, and creation of the new customer entrance is $11 million, which is approximately $0.30 per month for the average residential customer.

What are the benefits of the renovation?

  • Easier access to in-person customer care.
  • Improved accessibility.
  • 10% reduction in electricity use.
  • 45% reduction in natural gas consumption.
  • Close to 37% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
