New program uses AI-powered technology to optimize EV charging times, giving participating customers lower energy costs while supporting a more resilient neighbourhood grid.

KITCHENER, ON — July 28, 2026 — Enova Power Corp. (Enova) has launched a new managed EV charging program, developed in partnership with BluWave-ai, aimed at helping electric vehicle owners save money while supporting the reliability of the local electricity grid.

The program, powered by BluWave-ai’s EV Everywhere platform, will be offered to customers across Enova’s service area. Participants will use a mobile app to set charging preferences such as the amount of charge they need and by what time, while the platform automatically schedules charging to take advantage of lower electricity rates and optimal grid conditions.

Enova’s service area has seen rapid growth paired with a high rate of EV adoption in recent years. This has created a need for Enova to explore and evaluate charging strategies and energy management tools that can optimize electricity loads on the grid. This program seeks to turn EVs into a resource that can manage local distribution constraints and support grid resilience and reliability.

“Enova is launching a program that can deliver real value to customers right away,” says Greig Cameron, President and CEO at Enova Power. “We are exploring innovative ways to support the communities we serve, and the insights we gain here will help shape how we manage and plan for growth across our distribution system for years to come.”

Participating customers can benefit from:

  • Lower charging costs by automatically shifting charging to lower-cost, off-peak times.
  • Simple app-based control of desired charge level and when it is needed.
  • Access to rewards earned by optimized charging.
  • Continued reliability as vehicles are adequately charged and ready when needed.

Enrollment is free and voluntary, and customers can adjust their preferences or opt out at any time.

Investing in an electrified future

The BlueWave-ai managed EV charging program is just one of the ways Enova Power is helping power an electrified future. The utility’s growing fleet of electric vehicles affords the utility practical, actionable insight into electric vehicle use and capability, and its seven public chargers in Waterloo and Kitchener give customers easy access to public chargers when and where they need it.

“Our Kitchener public charger is a Level 3 DC charger that lets customers charge quickly and is conveniently located close to downtown Kitchener and all urban amenities including restaurants, grocery stores, and Victoria Park. Our Country Squire bank of six Level 2 public chargers are perfectly situated to let drivers top up their charge before heading out of town,” says Cameron.

Enova’s Kitchener public charger is located at its Victoria Street office, 301 Victoria Street South, Kitchener.

Enova’s bank of chargers in Waterloo are located at 526 Country Squire Road, Waterloo.
