WATERLOO REGION, ON (September 8, 2022) – The future of electricity in Waterloo Region is here. The merger is complete, and Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Inc. and Waterloo North Hydro Inc. are now Enova Power Corp.
Executives and board members of Enova Power Corp. joined mayors and local officials on Thursday, September 8, 2022 to officially unveil the new name and brand of the merged entity.
Enova Power Corp. (Enova Power) begins operations on Monday, September 12, 2022.
Rene Gatien, former President and CEO of Waterloo North Hydro Inc., and Jerry Van Ooteghem, former President and CEO of Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Inc., have been appointed Co-CEOs of Enova Power.
Steve McCartney has been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors for Enova Power.
Rosa Lupo has been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors for the Enova Power parent company, Enova Energy Corporation.
Enova Energy Corporation is owned by the City of Kitchener (53.4%), the City of Waterloo (30.8%), the Township of Woolwich (8.5%), the Township of Wilmot (4.5%), and the Township of Wellesley (2.8%).
The wholly owned subsidiary, Enova Power, is the 7th largest electricity distribution company in the province by customer count, providing energy solutions to over 157,000 residential and business customers in the City of Kitchener, City of Waterloo, Township of Woolwich, Township of Wilmot, and Township of Wellesley.
