The days might be getting shorter, but things are brighter for our furry and not-so-furry friends thanks to a $5,000 donation from Enova Power Corp. (Enova) to The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth (HSKWSP).
Enova made the “paw-some” donation on behalf of its customers who switched to eBilling during the summer eBilling campaign, which ran from July 15 until August 23. The utility donated $4 for each customer who registered for eBilling during the campaign.
The donation supports animal health, education programs and adoption services through HSKWSP. The organization is a community leader in animal health including microchipping, spaying and neutering, rabies clinics and veterinary outreach programs.
“We are incredibly grateful to Enova Power Corp. and their customers for this generous donation. Their support will directly impact the well-being of animals in our care and help us continue our vital programs for the community. It’s partnerships like these that allow us to provide essential services, from veterinary care to adoption programs, ensuring that every pet has the opportunity for a better life,” said Victoria Baby, CEO of The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth.
“Thank you to our customers who made the switch to eBilling in support of The Humane Society,” said Greig Cameron, Enova’s President and CEO. “We’re proud to support the health and well-being of animals in our region and provide much-needed assistance to The Humane Society.”
HSKWSP is the latest organization supported through Enova’s eBilling initiatives. In 2023, Enova donated $5,000 each to Grand River Hospital Foundation and St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation through its summer eBilling campaign, and 10,500 meals to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region on behalf of its customers through the fall eBilling campaign.
Enova is also a proud supporter of community organizations, educational institutions, charitable groups and businesses across its service territory. For more information on Enova’s community support efforts, visit enovapower.com/partnerships.
HSKWSP does not receive government funding, and relies on donors and fundraisers to provide dozens of critical services for people and pets. To learn more, visit kwsphumane.ca/support.
