Key Takeaways

  • Enova Power Corp.’s (Enova Power) autumn eBilling campaign raised $6,000 for The Working Centre.
  • The Working Centre supports more than 1,000 vulnerable people every day through various community projects, including a community kitchen, food distribution, shelter, and job assistance programs.
  • Enova Power has donated more than $40,000 to community groups through eBilling campaigns since 2022.
  • Enova Power provided more than $190,000 of community support in 2025 through donations, sponsorships, and scholarships.

Enova Power kicked off 2026 with a $6,000 donation to The Working Centre, supporting vital social services for vulnerable residents in Kitchener-Waterloo.

The donation was made on behalf of customers who switched to eBilling during the autumn 2025 campaign, which ended on December 31. Enova Power contributed $5 for each customer who switched.

“The Working Centre is grateful to Enova Power for creatively supporting our community commitment to care for those who are the most left out,” said Joe Mancini, The Working Centre’s co-director and co-founder. “The Working Centre forms a village of supports that includes employment, the daily meal at St. John’s Kitchen, outreach supports, shelter and housing, and social enterprises. We work to offer practical, wraparound supports that involve many in our accepting community. We appreciate Enova’s support for our work.”

The Working Centre was founded in 1982 as a response to poverty and unemployment in downtown Kitchener. The Working Centre has grown to encompass more than 30 ongoing projects, including a community kitchen, food distribution, and job assistance programs. The Working Centre has a significant impact on the communities it serves, including:

  • Supporting more than 1,000 people every day through its network of more than 30 initiatives.
  • Serving 400 meals daily through St. John’s Kitchen.
  • Helping more than 2,000 people find employment every year.
  • Creating supportive housing networks with 44 new units at 97 Victoria Street through the Making Home project.

“Thank you to our customers who switched to eBilling to support The Working Centre,” said Enova Power President and CEO, Greig Cameron. “This donation helps the centre’s vital work at a time when rising living costs and economic challenges leave more people struggling to make ends meet.”

Community support does not end with eBilling campaigns.
