Partnerships & Community Support

Collaboration is how we move forward. By joining forces with community groups and industry partners, we spark new ideas, tackle challenges together, and create positive impacts in the communities we’re honoured to serve.

Community and industry partnerships

Ontario’s electricity system is transforming as our customers’ ever-changing needs drive innovation and growth across the communities we serve.

Our executive and leadership teams proudly share their voices at major industry gatherings—from the Electricity Distributors Association’s EDIST conference to DISTRIBUTECH, leadership forums, safety summits, and cybersecurity events. Their insights are helping to shape the future of our sector.

We proudly hosted the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Energy and Environment Forum at our Country Squire office. The event celebrated Waterloo Region’s leadership in shaping Ontario’s energy future through panel discussions featuring Enova Power’s President & CEO, Greig Cameron, and industry leaders from Bruce Power, BWXT, EnPowered, the Region of Waterloo, and Activa, and featured a lively fireside chat with Hon. Stephen Lecce, Ontario’s Minister of Energy and Mines.

Community Support and Charitable Outreach

Enova’s purpose is to energize and empower our communities, and this is at the heart of everything we do. It’s about much more than delivering reliable electricity—it’s about uplifting the communities where we live, work and play, championing local charities, and inspiring the next generation through hands-on support and meaningful contributions.

In addition to providing electricity bill relief for customers in need through programs such as LEAP, in 2025 Enova invested $450,000 in our communities through donations and sponsorships, reinforcing our commitment to the communities we serve.

Our incredible employee-led Charity Committee raised $4,890 for community groups and social organizations, including:

The Humane Society of Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford Perth
unitedway
United Way Waterloo Region Communities
SickKids Foundation
SickKids Foundation
Waterloo Region Holiday Family program.

Our semi-annual eBilling campaigns continue to provide much-needed support to local social service organizations. Thanks to our customers who switched to eBilling, we donated $7,500 to Nutrition for Learning, just in time for the start of the new school year. We also donated $6,000 to The Working Centre as part of our autumn 2025 eBilling campaign.

Community support goes beyond donations and financial support. We increased our presence at community events across our service territory in 2025 to build personal connections with the residents and communities we serve. More than 15,000 visitors stopped by our booths at community events for interactive games, safety tips, account information and more. In 2025, we attended:

  • KidsPark in Kitchener
  • the City of Kitchener Public Works Open House
  • the City of Waterloo Public Works Open House
  • the City of Kitchener Fire Department Open House
  • the Township of Wellesley’s Touch-a-Truck Event
  • Woolwich Township’s Community Awareness and Emergency Response Open House.

Our large customers provide essential economic benefits to our communities, and, as trusted partners, we support them in growing their businesses.

Our key accounts team works directly with our largest customers to build strong relationships and deliver energy assessments, advice, and expert guidance to help them achieve their energy efficiency goals. We also focused on education. Our team hosted seven webinars and in-person events in 2025, covering topics like maximizing solar PVs, unlocking Save on Energy incentives, and using AI in energy management.

In addition to working directly with large customers, we took a leading role in introducing the Independent Electricity System Operator’s new Save on Energy program framework for small-business and residential customers. Not only were we the first utility to market with the programs, but our employees also took leadership roles on steering committees and helped create the program framework.

Financial Performance

Enova Power Corp. had a successful financial year in 2025, with a 24% increase in net income compared to 2024.

Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration Project (FLISR)

FLISR allows SCADA-controllable devices to automatically activate when a fault is detected. This activation automatically reroutes power to restore as many customers as quickly as possible after an outage. Later this year, the system will also monitor the network for sudden loss of voltage and attempt to isolate the cause and reroute power to as many customers affected as possible.

For more information on FLISR and its impact on reducing outage minutes across Enova’s service territory, visit enovapower.com/innovation.
